Which is better, working out at home or working out at the gym? This question has transcended many generations and yet, your answer remains unique. We’d like to share our thoughts with you and maybe they can help you make a decision. Where you choose to work out is entirely your own decision, you have to pick somewhere you think can help you tick off everything on your wishlist.
First, let’s take a look at the similarities that exist between both mediums, I know, you weren’t expecting that such different mediums could have one or any similarities, There are some qualities that tie them both;

- Dedication – Deciding to work out in the gym or to work out in the comfort of your own home requires dedication to achieve set goals.
- Work out routine – Now here’s a dynamic, because work out routine for the gym might be different from that of the home work out, but ultimately still is a “routine”.

Should you work out at the gym or at home? An eternal question, here are a couple of tips as promised to help ease your decision making;
- Privacy – Not everyone is comfortable with being seen or looked at by many people, so working out at home suits them perfectly. Since not everyone at the gym is trying to lose weight, some are building body parts, and sights such as these can make people who are insecure about their body feel down.
- Atmosphere – It can be the music you listen to or maybe even what’s on Tv at home, at the gym, it’s totally different, you are in the space place as people who have the same goal as you, so making it easy to stay focused. Exercising at home can take longer to complete as you might be the only source of motivation.
- Equipment & Facilities – The quality of the machines you can find in the gym is often better than the usual workout types of equipment you find at homes. Gyms have space to house more pieces of equipment as that’s the sole reason for its existence, as compared to your home.
At gyms, there may be power down rooms that help you power down and kill your stress, which sounds surreal, of course, you can go ahead and lay on the couch, but gyms offer that extra pampering.
- Distractions – At home, you have total control over whatever might be distracting you, and yes both gyms and homes provide their own distractions, at the gym you might be tempted to respond to a joke and boom! You’ve lost valuable workout time.
- Hygiene – When you workout at home, whatever you say is the law, you clean up your sweat and pay more attention to details such as leaving a used towel lying around, be aware that when you go to a gym, not everyone places the same price on cleanliness, so you may see some unwanted things. Most respectable gyms maintain good hygienic practices too.
Now it is up to you to decide whether to go workout at the gym or go workout at home. A broad spectrum opinion is that if you like socializing and can ignore other’s hygienic shortcomings, then the gym is for you, if not then pump it up at home. Or you can do both, both have their advantages, tailor them to your needs.
