Viola Davis’ Achievement and Background
As the first black actress to achieve a “Triple Crown of Acting”, Viola Davis became the first woman to win a competitive Academy Award, Emmy Award, and Tony Award in the acting categories.
Also, Viola also won an Oscar Award at the 89th Oscars in 2017 for the best supporting actress for her role in “Fences”.
The South Carolina born actress started her acting journey after her family moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island featuring in menial role for some theatre production. She graduated from Juilliard School in 1993 after which she won her first award “Obie Award” in 1999 for her role in Everybody’s Ruby.
